Austrian food guide :
Schweinebraten is propably the most poular Sunday meal in Austria and southern parts of Germany. It is an austrian style roasted pork and can be served with braised cabbage or sauerkraut, dumplings or spatzle. The Schweinebraten tastes even better with fine draft-beer or imported pilsen .
Kaiserschmarrn is caramelized pancake is made with more than the usual number of eggs, and often including raisins, chopped almonds, apple jam or small pieces of apple. The pancake is split into pieces while frying, sprinkled with powdered sugar, and is served hot with an apple or plum sauce.
Apfelstrudel is a traditional pastry of Austria and consists of an oblong strudel pastry jacket with a filling of chopped apples, sugar, cinnamon, raisins and bread crumbs. The art of preparation is in making the pastry very thin and elastic; it is said that a single layer should be so thin that one could read a newspaper through it. The filled Apfelstrudel is baked in an oven and traditionally is served warm, usually sprinkled with powdered sugar.
Friday-Special of the month: Austrian "Ripperl Party mit Semmelknödel und Kartoffeln"

An Austrian "Ripperl Party" is also a traditional dish. In most countries it is called BBQ-Ribs. The Austrian style is different as the ribs get their golden glance (like the Schweinebraten) during some hours in the oven. The marinade is usually kept as a big secret of the chef. The ribs will be served with bread-dumplings and potatoes.
Edelweiss will have their Ripperl-Party each Friday at their Restaurant on the street to Valencia across Hypermart.
