Calling all expats who can (or think they can) sing and act!

Prism Community Theater of Dumaguete, headed by Ms. Evelyn Aldecoa (who did The King and I and Fiddler On the Roof a few years back) will be staging the Broadway musical SOUTH PACIFIC. Auditions will be held at the Luce Auditorium on Friday, August 14 at 7 PM and Sunday, August 16, at 3 PM. Audition forms will be filled out at the Luce Auditorium.

Ms. Evelyn will be auditioning for the following roles:

    - Emil de Becque, French plantation owner (if you're middle-aged and can sing "Some Enchanted Evening" please audition!)

    - Nurse Forbush (Emil's 30-something love interest; she also sings)

    - Lieutenant John Cable, who sings "Younger Than Springtime" (20s-30s)

    - Bloody Mary (Tongan, she sings the famous "Bali H'ai")

    - Liat (French-educated daughter of Bloody Mary, no singing part)

    - 2 Eurasian kids, a boy and a girl, about 9-10 years old

    - American officers

    - American nurses

    - islanders

Prism wants to involve the COMMUNITY, so please share your TALENTS and join the auditions!

No Weena, and the ones interested in joining are a mixed bag composed of college kids, professionals and retirees. But this is one play that would require a good number of caucasian actors, to portray American soldiers in WWII. Ditto for the American nurses assigned to the south pacific islands.

For any concerns regarding the auditions (the first one's tonight at 7 PM, at the Luce Auditorium), please contact Ms. Evelyn Aldecoa at 0920-906-7541. Echir is right, this would be a great and welcome chance to involve the expat community!

Would suggest an offer of "free beer", (for lubrication purposes only, of course), might help 'bump' up the number of potentional aspirants, substantially.
