I saw on the internet that as of last November, the airport tax for Philippines domestic flights is now included in the ticket price and you no longer have to buy at the airport? Can anyone confirm? Thank you.
Only for domestic flights originating from MNL... Soon this would also include flights originating from CEB, DVO, BCD, ILO and CGY, but no word yet when this will be.
Yesterday my sister-in-law did have to pay airport tax flying to Manila from Dgte, but did not have to pay airport tax from Manila to Dgte today.
In Manila and Cebu they are now collecting the terminal fee in the price of the ticket, other airports charge the terminal fee at the airport. If you flew out of Dumaguete without paying the P40 terminal fee, you saved a bunch! Larry
I think you are right, it is so little as to be inconsequential. They are trying to get everyone to agree to raise it to P200 though. Larry
Shouldn't the price of the "terminal" fee be based off of the cost of running said terminal? I would say the Dumaguete terminal doesn't cost nearly as much to maintain as the Manila terminal. Oh, crap, my apologies......using that logic thing again.
The terminal fee is not only based on the cost of maintenance but also for future projects. New or renovated terminal building with a proper baggage handling, night lights for the runway and of course extra bonus for some politicians involved.
