    We live in Daro, so it didn't matter, she just took off in the car, many ways to get downtown from here. The only points were to get into the market.

    No problem Bacong to Dumaguete at 9:00 this morning, just checked for mask. Coming back at 10:15 I saw checkpoint on break, no one checking. No issue getting a haircut or buying a steak and wine at deli by Bo’s and take out coffee at Starbucks. Wear mask

    Me too, went out a little later. Barber shops were stacked, I figured it might be that way, weekend and for those that still had a job it was a payday at that, I'll go out next week for the haircut. Got wine and scotch from Lee's, got steak from JLH along with Prosecco.

    No eating in at Y Not, Casablanca had people dining outside, a bit early so didn't see anyone having a beer or other with their meal, will check that next week. Ladies at Y Not expect full dining in after May 16.

    Rolling Pin by Silliman is now open but Sophia's Wine Store was still closed.

    No checkpoints, seniors all over the place. Slowly getting back to normal, but with a mask. I figure if you are walking and wear a mask, no one will bother you in town.

    From a local civic group; I never know how true these summaries are; the last EO didn’t mention this ban one way or other. I guess it makes a difference if the new EO is a supplement meant to be added the the old one, still intact, or is meant to supersede the old EO completely;

    You’re assuming the people who write these things actually understand the difference between words like ‘supplement’ and ‘supercede’?

    Ever noticed how these four words are (mis)used at random?

    Trading. Retailing. Marketing. Wholesaling.

    Sometimes I think we’d have an easier time of deciphering this sh*t if they’d just stick to Bisaya.

    As the regulators decimate the corona virus by banning the consumption of alcohol, I can only ponder how a law like this would elate the moonshine distillers in Johnston County NC back home. It would be ‘happy days are here again’ to bring back Prohibition all over again. Maybe there is a bright spot for the tuba makers of Negros Oriental.

    Besides the fact that he did not interpret the rules for dining establishments correctly, the IATF said it was okay as long as protocols, such as safe distancing, are in practice. I see no purpose in this except to claim a higher authority. As usual, to me, it is one step forward, two steps back.

    I’m all for strict implementation of social distancing rules and drinking in public usually ends up in that not happening. Alcohol ban down here only began to be strictly enforced after some bozos got to fighting in the street. But what I do in the privacy of my own home is my own f*cking business!

    As for social distancing, it seems social amelioration is exempt or is of higher priority. Huge crowds at several basketball courts yesterday, jostling for their crumbs. Seems gatherings are okay, as long as no one is having fun. In that case they should open the sodding churches back up so they don’t ‘have to’ loudspeaker their bullshit at the whole town.

    Maybe the establishments that sell liquor can do as some of the other agencies or people in this country are known for when a court order is issued, "We have not yet received the official order as of yet." So they don't comply even though it is being reported. Wife just went to Lee's to see if this might be the case until Monday.
