I would hope so. However, these oil changes are performed during the mandatory "vehicle service checks" every 10k kms. So there is sightly more than just an oil change going on.

Changing oil and replace the oil filter is done with the periodical maintenance; just did check the invoice for that.

We use the 6 months maintenance interval on a toyota, skip the 3 month period. If we used the kilometer interval, it would be every two years, and then the engine would disintegrate before 10 yrs...

Nowadays engine's maintenance interval are in general one year or 20.000km, what ever comes first. If it gives a better feeling to use a shorter interval, for what reason, always do as you please of course.

Not if you have a warrant with Hyundai. They have a chart in their service center they say must be followed or they will void your warranty.

    I don't know.
Maintenance interval should be what ever your log book says, its different for different models and brands.

My concern is in some parts of Asia they just change oil and maybe filter. The log book and schedule normally has different things that need doing at certain kms. Like changing brake fluid, fuel filters, coolant, timing belts etc.

I have never had a car serviced in Philippines so unsure what gets done.

Hyundai was kind enough to send me a picture of there service fees posted on their wall. I've also included a receipt to show the additional charges not listed on the poster.

I suppose they are. :meh: But it would be nice to have the option to do it myself and save some money (even though I would absolutely never do that). No matter, while I'm there waiting for them to finish I make sure to drink all the free coffee and snacks that I can and go fart in all the new vehicle in the show room.
