CNN Philippines just said arrest or shoot quarantine violators. No clarification yet!

Why? Do you plan on threatening someones life?

    Quote from link you provided:

"I will not hesitate. My orders are sa pulis pati military, pati mga barangay na pagka ginulo at nagkaroon ng okasyon na lumaban at ang buhay ninyo ay nalagay sa alanganin, shoot them dead," he said.

"Naintindihan ninyo? Patay. Eh kaysa mag-gulo kayo diyan, eh 'di ilibing ko na kayo," he added.

(I will not hesitate. My orders are to the police and military, also the barangay, that if there is trouble or the situation arises that people fight and your lives are on the line, shoot them dead. Do you understand? Dead. Instead of causing trouble, I'll send you to the grave.)

I guess he's really frustrated because he is completely powerless and cannot send an army of killers to go and shoot the virus out of the country.

Nah. This is how he communicates. The drama gets more community penetration. No one would listen if he said everyone should remain calm and obey the law. Look how this was repeated on this forum. This is the age of social media.

The country needs a sledge hammer, not necessarily a M-60. I think Duterte put the message out there so people (may) think twice before rioting. The IQ level is not that high where people will remain calm rather than panicking. I believe martial law will be declared, if it hasn’t been made official yet. For us in Bacong, couldn’t get much worse anyway.

Sometimes tough talk is necessary. When workers at NAIA were planting bullets in luggage and demanding money to prevent the innocent travellers getting arrested, the President paid them a visit! I don't know what he said but it sure stopped.
