make sure how they bill when you find a place, sometimes they just hook a mobile to their Wifi.

Check for the possibilities for interet through your mobile, it is an option I wanted to check out for next visit. In the above scenario you are better of pricewise I am sure.

I don't know of any resorts on Siquijor that have wifi. Coco Grove, Coral Cay, Kiwi, Norwegian Dream, Salagdoong, Islanders Paradise didn't when I visited earlier this year.

There is not much internet on the island at all - although there are now internet cafes in Larena, Siquijor, San Juan and Lazi. I think Kiwi resort has a computer that guests can use to check e-mail (for a price), but no wifi.

I think some people use the USB dongle things that you can get from Smart or Globe, but I have no idea how good or fast they are, or if they will work on Siquijor.

Ah yes, could have been clearer.

The Smart BRO USB modem allows you to connect to the Internet anywhere where there is a Smart network coverage. The device is offered under a P799 monthly plan.

Apparently there's a prepay option too. More at Home - Smart Bro

Becks! Thanks, Thanks, Thanks for the wonderful tip.

I don't know about WI-FI in Siquijor but the Smart Bro modem is a Godsend. I'm writing this from my cabin on the MV "Our Lady Of Medjigorje" in Manila harbour waiting for the ship to sail. I bought one of the modems on the weekend and I'm using it now.

Basically you get internet access wherever there is a SMART cellular signal. The better the signal, the better the service. I'd be happy for 56K just to check E-Mail etc. I'll get that anywhere in the Philippines and better in some locations, including Dumaguete.

Cost? 2800 pesos for the modem. Access is, get this, 10 pesos for 30 minutes!

    What hath God wrought?
