Agreed but you miss the meaning of my post. I mean when they open the boarders for thousands of visitors, millions per year, I am sure hotels will not not be available for that number and we wait and see if the Philippines can afford for over 100 million injections and just give them away for free and accept the certifications given to the various vaccines which visitors will be relying on. I for one do not believe the Chinese one will be as good as the rest and the Chinese make up a huge proportion of the visitor numbers to this country. We wait and we shall see. Your belief in the numbers presently being catered for is.I believe, ill founded.

If Manila is forecasted to be so slow in recovery and is not expecting tourism movement to recover until the second half of 2021 and the fact the Manila is the major centre of, the hub if you like, of movement to the provinces, then I fail to see how the rest of the country will be considered normal for tourism.
There are a few other provincial airports available but some of those are not directly connected to most other counties unless you fly here by a round-about route which is generally more expensive. I fail to see how this news above is exciting or is going to solve anything. Stlll bad news for the Philippines and us in it. We wait and see just what the effect of a vaccine will have and especially in the Philippines just how available this is for those without money to pay for it. I really do not expect the government to give it away for free.

There is no "secret agreement" between media (owners, staff of newspapers/television/radio/internet outlets) about what they should or should not report on, nor about the colour palette they should use when reporting news stories. The only countries where such stuff happens are China and a few other dictatorships, where news organizations are expected/forced to tow the line and/or journalists are frightened to do their job.
Any notion of such a conspiracy in countries that cherish free speech deserves to be forcefully denied.
Neither is there any market force that leads to "the media" all reporting on the same stuff or in the same way. At most you could say that human curiosity will encourage "clickbait" (inaccurate/embellished headlines) at those news outlets that are known as "tabloids" when printed, as part of their marketing ploy.

But this is not what the media wants us to think. Stop using data and you brain and be afraid, the media and their ad revenue demands it!

I derive the "sense of smell" comment from people I know and trust communicating their experiences. Since we're related, it is most likely what I'd experience as well. I think there's a very high chance that many of the people said to have died from COVID have actually done so, and that's a terrible thing indeed. Death by any means is terrible to those that die, their friends, and their loved ones.

The reason I come out and say the things, is because you come out and say your things. Every time I've seen views contrary to yours expressed, you come out and tell them your views. @jimf is just the latest. Isn't that why we're a community?

He's just advocating for what makes sense; isolating those most vulnerable.

Isolating people, removing their ability to take care of their families, so that they won't lose their sense of smell for two weeks, is a cure worse than the disease. I know, we'll have another cycle of empathy bashing for this statement, I just need @jimf to know he's not alone in being rational.

Everyone is at risk for the common cold too. For some, it is riskier than for others.
