Glazed eyes, a dull blank expression, and a small gob of drool slithering down the chin....

    Yup, there's one!

    Clampett's In Philippines

Wifey and I were doing a bit of shopping in mall when we decided to take the escalator to the second floor. As we were approaching the upper level we noticed a huddle of people standing around the down escalator staring with wonderment at this contraption with the stairs coming out of the floor to take them down. Mom, Pop and a bunch of kids that would best be described as the Philippine counterpart to the Clampetts from the old TV series Beverly Hillbillies, trying to get up the courage to get on the moving stairs. They finally got on but it was quite amusing watching them.

Modern electronics are generally much more expensive in the Philippines than they are in the US, Oz, UK, and especially other Asian countries such as Hong Kong, etc. This is due to the high import duties on them, as they are considered luxury items.

We found some things to be more expensive, while others are cheaper. Certainly not as great a place as I think everyone had hoped, but it will keep LP in line a little better having some competition around. Anyone notice that LP is really trying to get it's act together now? New items, new displays, etc.

Lee Plaza has certainly improved with the opening of Robinson.
Robinson was cheaper than LP at the opening but has increased their price since then and you can see this on the number of customers that went down.
Right now something goes wrong in the supermarket of Robinson and i hope the management will take action.
