When I moved from the US to Cavite I was debating should I sell my 42" HDTV I bought in Walmart for $800 or ship it via balibayan box for the fee of $300? I ship it! and glad I did, becasue if I buy a similar 42" HDTV in SM Mall, it would cost me about $2,000 equivalent. PS3 games are very expensive too! PS3 GTA games, Tekken 6, Trahsformers cost about 3,000 pesos while I bought this in the uS for like $26 a piece or less than 1,200 pesos. a PS3 game module is 22,000 pesos almost $500 while I just bought a brand new one for $299 in Guam.

Larry, I seem to look different than others because I don't see real changes in LP. Of course they are changing some spots but it has done that before as well.
No, I actually was expecting to see more action in LP after arrival of Robinsons.
Robinsons needs some more time to find its way.
Mind you, it's opening was not even 3 months ago !!!!
Of course the number of customers is not yet overwhelming when still so many shops have not yet opened there.
Let's be a bit realistic and make conclusions after 1 year.

I do agree that it will take some time for them to get their act together. I givbe all new businesses time to adjust to doing business here before I judge them too harshly. I for one am happy for the mall, and the new products that are in it, hopefully as time goes on they will improve also.

As I said in an earlier post, we found some things in Robinsons that were considerably cheaper than Lee, and other things that were more expensive.

If you have been in hyper lately, you may have noticed they are closing down all the stalls along the east wall. Time will tell what the plan is there.

    Well.
Whats the pricetag of a 42'' Plasma or LCD in DGTE these days.

In Norway I can get a LG (HDready) Plasma from 32000 PHP these days.
    42'' (FullHD)LCD starts at about 40 000PHP. 50'' plasma starts around 45 000 php.

And have Robinson done anything to general price level in DGTE.

It’s been a little while since anybody has posted here. Can anyone post an update on any new stores that might have moved in? Or any suggestions on witch shops offer some of the best deals?

my oh my but doesn't time go by so fast.

last time I was in Dumaguete they were about a week away from opening it.

I was seeing a girl who was starting a job there.

unusually, as she's not the type to go to cyber cafes that often and I keep in touch with her by texts, I noticed she was online on yahoo last week. "What are you doing?", I asked.

'making up my resume', she replied.

'what happened? You lose your job?'

'no. It's just the six months are up in another few weeks.'

needless to say the big majority of all the staff taken on are going to get fired regardless of whether they've done a good job or not. Great employers, aren't they.

That is common practice here because of many extras employer have to pay if staff is employed longer as 6 month.

If they are good they get another 6 month contract after a few days off. If not well, no need for that person anyway. Sadly (from own experience) the focus of many young people here is "Having a Job and not Doing a Job".

had the worst experience last April 27 at MOOON CAFE .. we waited for like more than hour for our food only to find out that the waitress did not process our order! dang, aren't these waitresses trained properly? don't they value the satisfaction of their customers? i mean the customers after all pay for their salaries. it was extremely the worst ever! we were so hungry, we ended up at chow king instead!..

I disagree! We saw the new Iron Man II movie in the theater at Robinson's Mall here in Dumaguete last night and their sound system rocks! During some scenes the floor shakes too! Awesome sound and an awesome movie! :D
