Am I correct? You walk around Dumaguete locked and loaded with your fiance's pistol. I assume you know if you use it you will be in a world of hurt. Hope she visits and feeds you for the next ten years....
I can almost see keeping it loaded and accessible at home...especially at night...but out in town...that can end very badly. Anyway good luck....and also...semper fi...

If I understand what I have been told regarding the PI firearms law, as long as my wife has a license, if we together are extreme danger and in an act of self defense, I can take her weapon and use it to protect ourselves. I imagine there would be a thin line of interpretation. Nevertheless, we feel safe here and a weapon is really in case of a home break in. An American friend in Amlan had his home broken into, no security grills on the windows, and apparently chased the perp away with a gun. Personally, I would rather use my K-bar type knife but can't pack it in her little shoulder bag.

I was reading several posts back and was under the impression you were carrying. If she is - and hands you the weapon when needed - you'd likely be ok. As far as the law is concerned. Relatives and compadres might have their own opinions - but you can cross that bridge in the unlikely event you have to. At home, not a bad idea to hold. Most Filipinos I know with a bit of money - keep one or more around the house. Oddly, virtually none of them carry one in public....

Taken from the script of Full Metal Jacket, a Stanley Kubrick movie from 1987.

I sometimes carry a firearm and wonder...If I am forced to protect myself and family...Would it be better to have my wife claim she was the one to pull the trigger since she can own a gun legally?

Not sure of the point you are making. I have the DVD and watched it at least 50 times plus went through the real life experience. I think you are British so I will add that I once served along side an attachment of British Royal Marines and they were as fine as a military force that I met, and had the honor of being invited by them to the old British Hong Kong Victoria Club and they showed me they were far superior to drinking than me an my mates. A long sentence but that was a long time ago, back in the day,
