My wife and I have been living here in Negros Oriental for 3 years now. We have been using ATM debit card for receiving cash to buy food and pay bills. My debit card expired last August. Problems having US bank send replacement card here. Using wife's card for now, it will expire end of October. Has anyone else dealt with this problem and have suggestions?

    1. have bank send to friend and then ups or fed ex to you... although I am sure you already have thought of that
    2. numerous services will give you a U.S address and then forward mail and packages to you for a fee
    3. open local bank account (both dollar and peso so you can convert at your discretion) and transfer funds to it from your U.S bank (many transfer services to choose from) then use the debit card from local bank. Local bank accounts are really handy for paying phone, internet and other bills online.

Since our bank would only send our card to the address on file, we had to change our address with the bank to a family member's address before we moved to the Philippines. The bank then sent the new card to that address and he forwarded to us.
