OK, I am a German and I - and a lot of my friends here - had never problems with the DBM!

Hi Wry, it seems, that you do not learn so easily, I explained to you, that it was a German Saying...like "send them to hell", but you repeat the "murdering-thing" again and again, this is monotone too. And the one, who wrote the letter to Duterte, does not think, that it would really help, he merely wanted to express his disgust at the injustices and law-violations of the German Embassy in Manila and sent this letter to many politicians also in Germany. I also wonder, if you have ever felt anything like compassion and solidarity for people who are strongly in love. I seems, that you cannot imagine and emphasize to fall in love with a Filipina and want to show her your environment in the Unites States before marriage and you are denied, even, if you fulfill all the requirements of the Schengen-Law................................................ But as no one here tells about his experiences with the other embassies, it seems, that the other embassies are angel-like.

I fully understand that it was a bad translation and I know what was meant by it. In my post I said "murder of embassy staff/closing of an embassy"....I gave both how I interpreted the bad translation with the context I felt it was in and what you said the bad translation meant.

Well...you wouldn't, and shouldn't, be granted a visa if you went to the US Embassy with all the Schengen visa requirements completed.

Also, you say that your friend met all the requirements...I said I don't believe that is the case. Most visas are denied because the paperwork was not completely filled out or it had inaccurate information. Since I know nothing about your friend or his wife I will just consider him a statistic and throw him under the most likely reasons for visa denial (incomplete or inaccurate information or criminal/poor financial history). Not sure why you need so badly for me to believe you/him. My opinion does not matter to the German Embassy.

BTW: You said you hired a German immigration lawyer, which is exactly what I suggested. Sounds like your friend's problem will be sorted out soon enough.

Hi Wrye, before I write here such things, I study the cases carefully, all cases were defined to have ALL requirements, nothing lacking. The problem is, the German Politic and the administrative court give a too much broad discretionary power to their embassies. I really wonder, that you always try to bring away the topic from the arbitrariness to lacking papers ?!

Next time, when you will bring a problem here, I will also change your concern, I will also ignore your concern, but I think as an Admin, you will not bring your concerns here. By the way the Philippine wife of the letter-writer could come to Germany with the help of another foreign embassy, what is not so unfair and arbitrary and he used the same required documents.

I dont speak about DBM in general, I speak about the awful arbitrariness of the Visa-Department. Have you ever been successful to bring your Filipina to Germany?

Assuming you are talking about the case of a foreigner interacting with the US Embassy for a visitors visa and the like, the US tries to accord the same level of service that the comparison country affords US citizens in visiting that country. For example, a US visitors visa for Chinese is set at the same value China charges US visitors. But I guess I don’t understand the question. If marriage is not involved, then there will be a tough vetting process though I know several that have succeeded, where the woman was a professional, married, owned real estate back home etc.. They will not let someone in who has no identifiable means of support. And if the girl is single, well she might hook up and get married outside of the process, right? Even employees of large US multinational companies in Asia ( ex. China) who are single and female have a very difficult time getting a visa for a business trip. For them, marriage is necessary for a successful career.

Yeah, you've said that. Doesn't make it so.

If I had a similar issue and I said all the criteria has been met I would provide a list of all the criteria that has been met for the visa on the forum....because I know that sometimes things get overlooked. You refuse to even entertain the idea that the application was anything short of perfect, and that stubbornness leads me to believe even more that all the criteria wasn't met.

You weren't looking for advice, you were looking for people to agree with you.
