    City of Tagbilaran: Accommodations

Wregent Plaza Hotel is on the main street...CPG avenue. Malls are about five minute walk - go out the front door, turn right and walk straight down CPG Avenue. Good sized rooms, comfortable enough. You should be able to ring them up and negotiate a good room for under 1200. They don't mind bargaining a little...and get the clerks name in case there is any confusion on check-in (which hasn't been a problem at that hotel for us - but we've had a couple games at other hotels). Ask for a room away from the street unless you like 140db of trike noise....Breakfast at Wregent is good enough - but you're better off eating lunch and dinner somewhere else, it was pretty mediocre last couple of times. MetroCentre Hotel is directly across the street and the food is excellent.

    hi cutlery,

i hope you received my email. there are many pension houses in the city.but i recommend you stay in a hotel. the place i stayed there was in Soledad Suites, which is really nice.its just one ride to the malls, and its also a walking distance to Alturas and BQ.

I'm off to Bohol tomorrow (thurs). Going by Ocean jet at 2.20pm (there is an earlier one, 7.30 I think). Cost me 650 Pesos one way.
I've been told of one place (Diamond something or other that costs about 950 P per night, also got a couple of other places, one in town, one on Panglao that I may check out).

i think the fare is 520 one way in ocean jet..we have checked the rooms that costs 850-950 per night..it's a bit small but presentable..i suggest you stay in a hotel in the city, it's much more nice..

Checked my ticket....Ocean Jet, 650P one way. I booked a couple of days in advance so maybe got surcharged?
Mrs has booked us into Dao Diamond (sic?), 950 a night inc breakfast for 2 and they will meet us off the ferry. The hotel is in town as opposed to on the beach....

Pink, the fare was made up of the price + VAT which rounded it up to 650P.
Indeed the Dao Diamond is very nice. A choice of 10 complimantary breakfasts, nice rooms with AC, cable etc. Staff are fery courteous. Picked up from ferry and will be dropped off at airport on Sunday. Indeed they have offered to drop us off in town tonight so we can sample a bit of night life, and have helped us to arrange a trip to see Chocolate Hills, Loboc River, Taersiers etc tomorrow...car and driver for 2,500 for the day...

As I work with Deaf people in London it is interesting to meet Deaf people from other countries, though here in the Phils, sign language is more like the American (ASL) system than the British (BSL)...
