this might be useful for some of our members

    https://support.microsoft.com/en-ph...ates-international-keyboard-layout-in-windows

if you're using ms windows you can install the US international keyboard and then all you have to do to make most special characters is press the right alt key and the letter you want

    for spanish:
    - pressing the right alt key with any of; a e i o u n ? makes á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ, ¿
    - for capitals: press shift and the above keys Á, É, Í, Ó, Ú, Ñ

just for fun, i held the right alt key down and pressed q and continued across the keyboard to p and got the following:
    ä å é ® þ ü ú í ó ö

Looking quickly, the one element that is missing is the macron-- not the president of France, I mean the straight line, like a dash, placed above certain vowels in the English transliteration of many Japanese words, also Sanskrit and related languages.
