I had 2 helpers in dumaguete and payed them 5000 peso a month live in, no extras my wife makes sure of that!! I live in Tagaytay now and pay the same, very loyal girls, not a problem from them in 3 years. We went to Singapore in february and we brought them with us for a holiday. My own mother was in service when she came to the U.K in the 1930s from Ireland so I can relate to poverty. But I am ready to be flamed, ie spoiling the market for other employers, ohh well life is to short to worry, good wishes

    Maids

If he'll pay my wife 5000 a month and let her live in, he'll make two of us happy.

Anyone paying only P1500 a month or less for a helper should be ashamed of themselves.. Most expats spend more than that on pizza

Common.......1600 pesos monthly for cooking and taking care of children??? You can hire those people who live up in the mountain. I know things are expensive to buy in the Philippines..just like dollars. Here in America child care is very expensive. The average cost of 40,000 pesos a month. Cooking is another thing. Child care provider price may vary but the price that I just give is the average here in California. Some people in the Philippines will never get ahead because of others that would take advantage of the services they provide. Think about it!!
