I was born in Dumaguete now living in Canada. I will visit Dumaguete in August to see if I could retire there in a few years. This recent spate of killings is telling someone wants to get noticed, to be relevant. Random victims. Pretty sure some are innocent. I cant believe this is happening to my quiet and mostly academic province. I dont think this is happening in other provinces. Many of my classmates are now living good lives abroad, sending money to our classmates in Duma to organize annual founder's day events in August and support less fortunates classmates. To my fellow expats, please lie low for now. Avoid becoming more visible and let the government finish its job. Just sharing. Thanks

Do not read that headline out loud in the English speaking world. You will get some dirty looks.
