I went in to immigration today for an extension and below are the following updates as of June 1.
    • Extensions are now available BUT, limited to 30 applicants per day. (So go early)
    • Exit clearances can be done in Manila if current stay is between 6 - 12 months.
    • Exit clearance with stay over 12 months must be done at BI.
    • Sweeper flights - she couldn't tell me, no knowledge.
Only a few things but I think can save headaches if this is known.

There is an agent in the same hallway as BI about halfway down the hall to the BI on the left. They will handle your visa extension at the BI for you. They charge 1000 but it is very convenient. They also do exit clearances. 4000 for that and you only have to see them, no Cebu trip.

I think many are incapable of keeping their mouth shut. I always wear noise cancelling headphones and keep the music blasting when around foreigners queueing in line to avoid the frustration of hearing it.

I would suggest that those who need to extend should do it here now, if planning to do it in Manila like the BI suggest is a big gamble, if when you get there for some reason its closed (which is a absolute possibility in the current climate), or they could be endless line or a skeleton workforce then you wont be left board and no amount of reasoning will get you off the hook, be advised to do it here, and if you need to quarantine in manila factor that into your extension time when estimating the extension requirements...its your passport its your visa its your responsibility

Thanks for the updated info, very handy since I travel nearly 3 hours to Dumaguete and back by Ceres to access BI.

I believe sweeper flights are outside of BI's control and are up to the embassy and airline making those arrangements!

that sort of question would certainly be met with a frown and a mental note of the face for next time, but considering its a 3 person operation, they seem to be operating a lot better than when they had 5 0r 6 there running around like headless chickens, getting in each others way, everytime i go there seems to be getting smaller and smaller with boxes of documents just mounting up and up, but it is a money making machine, there is enough vacant space around the city to upgrade a little make the place a little brighter maybe an air con or two, and some breed of privacy at the counter everyone knows your business, sure we all know why we are there, but it all comes down to as it always does to who owns the place and the connection they have

took my own advice got there at 6.40 this morning, it was busy busy busy, and got number in the mid 2o's, they only process 30 per day (and this will be for all of june) anyone who has let the extensions slide for a few months as you were advised now has only until june 30th to catch up or you will be penalised for the months you did'nt extend, one good thing is that both girls are now processing so its not a long process really once the doors open, dont wander in after 7 and think you will get a number as it will be chock a block by then as a side note if your waiting in line dont start bitching and moaning about fans and its too hot and how the governor is a clown, and how cebupacific havent a clue and they should do this and they should do that, its just awful to listen to foreigners whinge and moan in top voice especially with no beer around
