Thanks for clearing that up for me. I see the errors of my ways now that you pointed it out to me.

It was the San Rival at Robinson's. After sleeping on it I am a bit regretful about using the word "pushed". It might be more accurate to say that he used his hands to politely indicate his intention to escort me back outside the door than it would be to say "pushed". But to me it certainly felt like being pushed out with the message "old people not welcome here". I'm not sure if "no service to seniors" is part of the Dumaguete re-opening rules or not, but if it is I know that other restaurants we have been to are not enforcing it. I don't know if the Rizal Sans Rival is enforcing the same policy or not?

Here's another crazy thing, so then we went back into Robinson's to eat having been denied entry to Sans Rival. We went to Chow King, and they have the interior arranged with a bunch of tables with one chair per table. I asked if we could move a chair so that my wife and I could eat at the same table. They said no because social distancing. I pointed out that we will be driving home in the same car and will be sleeping tonight in the same bed, so why can't we sit at the same table to eat our lunch? They said, "Sorry sir, current rules only allow one person per table". Both KFC and Jollee Bee had tables close together with lots of people per table.

It's the usual mishmash of interpretations that have been evident throughout the last three months. No doubt whatever comes after next Tuesday will result in the same..same..same..

Most restaurants like coffee groove and zaks allow related people to sit at tables for 3 or 4, but reduced tables by half. This seems to be the standard. If i ran into a place like chow king, i'd tell them to check with the city and fix their rules, then go elsewhere.
