When should a person end isolation after feeling ill? (Not just for COVID but for other things like the flu and the common cold as well.) There seems to be a conflict between what the Philippines government says and what the CDC says.

    The timeline for my symptoms:
Day 0: Fever, raw throat, lower back pain, sensitive skin, eye pain (looking anywhere but straight forward hurt), bad headache.
Day 1: Fever, raw throat, lower back pain, sensitive skin, eye pain, bad headache.
Day 2: Headache, sensitive skin, back pain, eye pain.
    Day 3: Headache, eye pain.
Day 4: Headache, eye pain. *Symptoms are gone by afternoon.
Day 5 (today): First day I woke up without a pounding headache. No other symptoms.

    The CDC says:
The only medicine I took was alka seltzer and Captain Morgan (which might have been the reason for the headaches the last 3 days).

Still not sure if this was COVID and I probably never will but I would like to play it safe and not spread whatever this was.

Covid illness in most cases lasts much longer and if you could still taste your food, chances are you had a mild Flu. Covid being a new bug the range of symptoms are mild to none to major. Seems the only way you would know is that you had a temperature 1st. That seems to be the common reaction to Covid across the board.

Loss of taste and smell is not common with the new variant. Symptoms the vast majority of people, especially those that have been vaccinated, have with COVID are indistinguishable from the common cold.

    I don't know.
I have read two days after the end of symptoms. You may take a little longer. Do you really want to be around other people anyways?

Need to buy some groceries. Have to be around other people to do that.
