I would admire those men and women in the US Foreign Service, but not an American civilian bailing out from The Mainland.

Do you have true friends ( i mean real friends ) in the PI. Did you attend your last high school reunion?.

or enjoying the attention from the locals.

You dont get that in the state's

"Camp Crame (Philippines National Police Headquarters) crime statistics for the first half of 2006 tagged Central Visayas as the most dangerous region in the country today.

Comprised of the provinces of Bohol, Cebu, Negros Oriental and Siquijor, Central Visayas or Region 7, which has a total estimated population of 8 to 10 million ranked first among all 17 regions in the country in terms of murders, homicide, parricide, physical injuries and rape, while placing second overall in robberies and theft.

The rise in criminality regionwide is felt here in the province with the series of highway robberies and unsolved murder.

The Camp Crame data, which was reported last Monday in the Philippine Star, showed that Region 7 is “not only the most dangerous region in the country, it also has the lowest crime solution rate of only 66%.”

Of 694 reported crimes against persons and property, known as index crimes, law enforcers solved only 464 cases, the figures revealed.

Meanwhile, the region also registered second highest in country, after the National Capital Region (NCR) in terms of non-index crimes, considered as minor offenses like illegal gambling and illegal possession of firearms, with a total of 345 reported cases.

According to PNP officials, if index crimes surpass that of non-index crimes in a given area, it usually means that policemen in that area are not doing enough to curb criminality and are lax in law enforcement, the report said.

Although most of the summary killings reported in Central Visayas can be attributed to suspected vigilante groups in Cebu City, reaching at least 167 (unofficial count), the province still have a disturbing statistic of murders in the past months, most of which remain unsolved.

Index crimes in Central Visayas reached 274 cases of rape and physical injuries."

Do you know enough on how the people from the East Side of town feel?
I dont think so, coz people from the West Side dont give a deng..

East Side have their opinion about the West Side.

Some East Side folks can move and build a house in the West Side.

But never in a million years a West Side folk would think about building a house in the East Side or in a trailer park.

Filipinos would get an education so they can migrate to the US. Some PI folks do it on a different way.

Did you ask the PI people you spoke with, Why is that ???

Don't you have anything positive to post other than negatives? I understand you're trying to alert the foriegners here about the situation in the PI, but I think enough is enough, from you!

Virtually everything I've posted is direct from the Philippine government, the Philippine Information Agency, the Philippine National Police, the Philippine Army and the Philippine news media.

You need to contact YOUR OWN GOVERNMENT IMMEDIATELY and tell them to STOP TELLING THE TRUTH!

Let them know that the TRUTH they tell is not allowing certain people at this forum to enjoy their rose-colored glasses! :D :p

I am in basic agreement with what you say. You're smart enough not to look at the situation with rose-colored glasses, like some of the people here.

However, I don't believe that the U.S. officer meant the country was COMPLETELY lawless. He simply meant that there is a good deal of lawlessness in the country, and that one must be careful at all times, especially foreigners.

Virtually all of the Americans I know understand that there are MANY honest and law-abiding Filipinos. However, those who try to deny that there are some serious problems in the Phils and Negros--are just fooling themselves.

I know...that comment doesn't serve any purpose. It's getting malicious, mean, nasty, you name it. Worse than a Bears / Packers game.

Oh well! hopefully it will calm down:o

But not worse than watching an entire season of the Detroit Lions. That is truly brutal. :D

Anyway, glad to see Favre is coming back to the Packers for another season.
