Has anyone else noted the "beautification" program initiated by Coca Cola company in Dmgte?
It seems of late every blank wall every sari sari all the vendors at the market have been attacked by the mad coke painter. I drove around north in Piapi yesterday and the same up there. am not surprised, but dissapointed they can do this apparently with out permit or regulation.
This is not only commercial venues but it seems as if they are offering to paint private walls with their garish red and white logos. In Batingel there is a wall 100 meters long with coke painted from one end to the other.
Now if they painted SMB that might be ok

Dumaguete market is totally plastered with Coke ads as well now, before the stalls all seemed to have pepsi ice boxes... But now Coke certainly rules town...

The amazing thing is I saw a guy painting the logos on a store at the market, and he was doing it completely free hand, no stencils. By now I suppose he can do it with his eyes closed.

its absolutely no longer pleasing to look at..i think everyone has noticed that.im wondering how much they're offering to the stall and wall owners that they've allowed that.Coke definitey rules the town now!

I apparently was not the only one to take note. Jay Dejaresco's (editor of the Negros Chronicle) noted it on his blog as well. His comments suggested that the coke folks paid city hall forthe priveledge of painting the town red.

When I was in Vietnam a few years ago,I mentioned to my companion during a road trip, that I had not seen one coke sign.Probably he said because of the past war.The Vietnamese call it the American war.
Anyway,as we turned the next corner, there it was "Things go better with Coke"....it's probably in Burma (myanmar) too by now!

btw, i've also seen pepsi do their own version, though not as many as coke. cleaner though because of the white background, more friendly to the eyes.
