English being not my mother tongue, please accept my apologies in advance Have heard about this forum when I was in Dumaguete in 2016, it was not my first time in the Phils and I'm looking forward to come back asap for holiday, and for retirement in a relatively near future. It's now about 2-3 years that I've used to read this forum, makes me feel a bit like in holiday and reminds me of the good times here. I've decided to join as member so at least I can put some emoji as "ratings", see pics in full screen (especially the beautiful ones from "Dr Ski") and eventually put my 2 centavos ! Also in this special covid times, I've learned a lot of things concerning this virus by reading this forum (special thanks to "it's not my real name"). Oh! one last thing (finally !) ; I love to ride motorbike (especially 2 stroke, hence my nickname)... I like to ride on my own or with one or two friends max...so I'm not a big fan of MC Clubs...just saying
No need to apologies. Most here speak english. I should be the one to apologies for I can only speak english. By the looks of your first post you will not have any problems communicating here. I retired here 10 years ago and wife has instructions to scatter my ashes here. We have similar likes in who we want to ride with. I shy away from large groups no matter where I am at. I am really tired of this confinement at home, I broke no laws to justify this in house confinement.
Thanks Grandpainak, I won't break any laws even if I'm getting bored too with this confinement. Have just realised that I forgot to say that I live in the southeastern of France, close to Monaco where I work (and was born), and that I'm half Italian and Swiss (German)
Hmmmm, very nice - where the Alps tumble into the sea. Where exactly? I was lucky enough to live in Antibes for about 2.5 years, on the water, right next to the Old Town. My office was in Sophia Antipolis.
yes with these famous mountain roads and some off roads as well (most of the time I drive a 600 XT...more quiet at my age !) In Beausoleil The labyrinth !.. always almost get lost when I have to go there
Ahhh, Beausoeil, very nice. Before you move just remember to absolutely gorge yourself on baguettes, those Neapolitan style pizzas all the cafes serve, and, IMHO, wouldn't hurt to have a nice Moroccan Couscous or two. ;-)
Yes I know that I will have to forget baguette …but that should help my belly and abdominals to be less...how can I say... extroverted (!) For coffee I'll bring my old Bialetti moka express, and for Pizzas I should manage to cook them (crispy and thin pasta) like I do here in my oven...cooking (and eating of course !) being one of my hobbies Ok couscous will be more difficult, I concede
Hey there all... Akdano here and thanks for allowing me to be a part of this forum. I'm currently looking at tropical retirement options as I officially have 10 months to analyze all that's out there. I've been to PI several times and I love the climate, the peoples and the overall happiness in the Filipino mindset. I plan to visit soon and Dumaguete is on the must do list... Any recommendations for mid-range ($) lodging would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.
