Here is a topic which might be interesting.......Not to be nosey, but simply because when it comes to the crunch, it could be helpful to know who to call for advice or help.
    Which skills do we have?
I myself am an enthusiastic and they said good DIYer, speak fluent english and italian and work in the hotel industry.
What are you good at (let's keep it clean....)?

If you first tell me what a good DIYer is, maybe I will start typing my long list of incapabilities so others can help me with good advices.
My special capabilities ...?????..........hhmmmmmmmmm.....let's think about it some hours :D
But seriously UJ, it's quite a question to ask for telling around what you're good in. It will easily sound boosting.
Everybody has a number of skill but for advising others you need to have more than 'everage' skills on a subject/field.
To explain this: I e.g. play trumpet (as members know now )......but I am surely not a trumpet player who can advice others on many trumpet related aspects.

Ok, may be I went a little too far. I simply though it would have been a good idea to know to whom to address you everyday practical problems for advice on how best to deal with it, example, if I needed to sort out my teeth, a former dentist would be able to suggest where to go in Duma given that his previous experience will tell him who's good and who's bad in town, irrelevantly of the equipment available at the surgery.
Point taken Jelly, I've been naive to say the least.........:o

UJ, I too am a good DIY(DO IT YOURSELF) kinda person as I have been in construction all of my life in the US and skilled at almost all phases of construction. That does not mean I do the work much myself anymore but I will be willing to give basic instructions or info to anyone that may need my help. Concrete, plumbing, roofing, electrical, framing, trim, almost anything to do with construction of a house or building.
PS I'm not looking for a job and I dont work for free. LOL

Lets see, give me a Dell or HP laptop and within 15 minutes I will have it disassembled in 30 pieces or more. And because I also do not work for free, for ten american dollers I will put it back together. I also like to take cars apart but I am not as good putting them back to working condition. And just to brag, I have been an FBI certified finger print technician in my lifetime. All pretty useful at least at one time or another.

my answer has also something to do with DIY and i am so tired of it. I can post that also in the why Filipina-forum.

I was a farmer and still try my luck here for asawas family. Now I need a good cook to teach, that vegetables don't need to be boiled from 9 am to 6 pm, a meal is allowed to be warm and raw meat does not has to be stored in the sun

I was disappointed when ive read about the cancelled flights, and others got troubles on some airlines i am sorry about it guys...
Ive been an engine change crew and line maintenance of this nation's flag carrier airline for almost five years. I butchered some of the airbus and boeing planes since ive been in that company... well for those who got cancelled flights, be thankful enough for youre still alive! for those who got delayed,be grateful for your life has being extended. I am myself an not realeasing an aircraft that might endangered others' lives. Ive got a lot of friends and relatives who travel around the world and they might be a victim.
I bear this always on my mind, "there is no room to say i am sorry, when you do a job, do it right the first time! -aircraft related jobs"

Hi Dean, I'm with you 100%, the idea was to discuss matters over a cold drink and to get advices from someone who knows best, not to sponge someone and get him to work for free. I've noticed that in the Phils, if you let's say, are looking for a builder, you get thousands of applicants, only for you to find out that they do not know how to use a trowel....either because they do not want to let you down and so they bite more than what they can chow or simply because they are crooks.....mind you, plenty long noses of the latter category.....
Off topic.....excuse my ignorance.....what does LOL stand for?

    Union Jack,

Basically, that's how filipinos survive. Ive been in USA and a lot of filipinos are taking care of elderly people in the homecare though some of them did not undergo homecare program. Im proud of them even other races threw some craps on their faces.Others are doing it just for earnings, but there are filipinos working from the bottom of their heart...
