I saw on the ANC channel that in addition to number of cases, another part of the determination by the LGU was the availability of hospital care. Siquijor is not the best in that area so even with zero cases, that could be the justification.

JUST IN: The national Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases on Friday identified Negros Oriental as a "moderate-risk" COVID-19 area. Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said moderate- to low-risk areas must be placed under general community quarantine by May 1.

However, provincial government information officer Bimbo Miraflor said in a phone interview that the question whether or not to place Negros Oriental under GCQ or modified GCQ is still under discussion by the province's own IATF. #NewsBite | via Raffy Cabristante, 106.3 Yes The Best News Editor

Nope. IATF = Gov. Degamo, health practitioneers including hospitals, members from DILG, PNP and AFP. The mayors are not members of IATF.

I expect a modified GCQ with stricter curfews, distancing and hand sanitizing Hopefully they keep the provincial borders closed for some more weeks. And I have no idea what they will do about the rush-hour-no-social-distancing-in-pedicabs-and-jeepneys-and-easyrides when people return to work...

If I understand it correctly we were under GCQ until April 3 when we went to ECQ... under GCQ over 65 were allowed out .. we just had to abide with a curfew but there may be changes such as masks and social distance and store hours etc... at least this is my hope as I have not been out in weeeeeeeks

Since that liquor ban rumors began I find myself buying much more liquor than usual, since I'm always thinking "who knows, might be the last time you get something". Guess the Mayor missed the day at school when they were giving the "prohibition and why it doesnt work" lesson.

Also good that the birdie numnum brewery is just outside the city borders
