Second district Congressman George Arnaiz has made a big mark in the progressive strides not only in his district but that of the entire province by causing the allocation and release of P227Million for the development of road networks leading to various tourism destinations in Negros Oriental. Even with the abolition of the Priority Development Assistance Fund, Arnaiz managed to secure some P 227 million worth of projects because no tourism site can be developed without first making sure that its road networks are in place so that visitors can appreciate the tourist sites. Tourism is a multibillion industry. Its clientele are countless around the world. People are spending dollars just to enjoy two or five days in a good place. Dumaguete and Negros Orientalhave far better tourism sites in the Visayas so long as these are fully developed. We are still on the road to development following Bohol and Cebu. Arnaiz bags P227M in tourism roads - NegrosChronicle.com A step in the right direction.
Very much so, as long as they do what they say " Build Roads" and not Divert cash somewhere else. Hopefully not cutting corners as we know happens. A road is a Road but a good Road, will last a lot Longer, Didn't the Romans Prove that?
Any new projects have to be atleast started before end jan 2016 if not it waits until after the May elections. I remember after the last election all road improvements seem to stop so let's hope they get on with it. The road to twin lakes is finished now and the road is nearly all the way to caseroro falls so a start at least.
How many kilometer road do you build for 227 mil?? Say the road (barangay) is 4 mtr wide and 30 cm (12 inch) thickness. One meter road is than 1 x 4 x o,30 = 1.2 cub. Meter. Making 1.2 cub mtr good concrete takes 12 bags of cement @ P230/bag + sand/gravel /labor is about P 5000 per meter road. Preparation not included! P 227.000.000. :P 5000 = 45.400 meter or 45.4 km barangay road. Nothing to brag about IMO.
