Hi everyone.can the bureau of immigration in Dumaguete issue this ACR card or a personal trip to Cebu Is needed? How long will it take to be issued? can it be done by some travel agencies in Dumaguete? thanks for any useful info
You need to do it in Cebu, you have to have an electronic signature, photo and finger prints.. Takes 6 to 8 weeks.
After my interview with Immigration atty for 13(A)....I received my ACR card within two weeks @ Manila Immigrations.
side note: Dress Code strictly enforced........NO shorts or sandals......I was turned away and had to return the following week.
ACR Renewal Hi Guys, Just want to give a heads up to those permanent residents who may be needing to renew their ACR cards any time soon. Hope you're sitting comfortably because this is a bit of a long 'un. I work abroad and my card was due for renewal on 02 Jan 2012, which in itself is a great time to need renewing with all the holidays. I arrived in the Philippines on 21 Dec 2011 and was scheduled to fly out on 07 Jan, if I got the card in time. So on 22 Dec bright and early I was first in the queue in Manila Immigration Dept. However, the first problem arose when they said I had not made my annual reporting and therefore would have to pay P2,000 penalty for each year which I had not reported, which they claimed was three, plus the annual fee for each year. As you will have probably guessed, I had of course reported religiously each year, but at Dumaguete Office. As one would expect in the Philippines there had been a breakdown in communications and manila "claimed" they had not received any records from Dumaguete. They asked me to produce the receipts, which of course, having just arrived from abroad and not anticipated such gross incompetence on their part, I did not have with me. The other problem was that they also had no record of my change of address in Dumaguete, which I had also reported in Dumaguete and another fine for that. We managed to get around that by stating that I'd just moved, How often a lie is better than the truth when dealing with Philippine Agencies of the Government. I asked how come they had no records? Which department should have these records? After a few miss-directions, I arrived at the computer section where they said all such records should be held, great. But not so, it turns out that Dumaguete is notin their computer system, back to square one. So, due to my strict timetable, I was reluctantly forced to accept that I had to pay the fees again and the penalties. Stupidly, I asked if I produced the receipts could I get a refund? After looking at me as if I had just arrived from the local mental hospital, I was informed there was no chance. The good part of the story was that despite all the holidays the ACR was available on 5th Jan 2012 and I was able to return on schedule. After I arrived in Dumaguete I asked Immigration why they hadn't send the records to Manila. Of course they insisted they had. So, be warned! Don't assume that your reporting and address changes in Dumaguete are being recorded in Manila. Make sure you keep all receipts and take them with you if you go to Cebu or Manila for renewal.
corruption and extortion for the expats, keep all paperwork and get ready to empty your wallet. the last word is always, it is our policy sir or mam
had all my medical and various things done in los angeles. when I landed in manila they gave me 7 days to report to immigration. so I reported with the envelope they gave me in LA all sealed with official stamps and what not to immigration in Duma. Talked to peter nice guy and helpful but I still had to go back to manila or cebu to finish the process. Got to Manila and yes no short pants allowed so I rented a pair of pants from this kid who apparently makes his living renting pants to stupid forigners. First time in 60 years I ever rented pants. Anyway went to this window that window made copies back to windows back to the copy guy paid money got printed electronicly and the old fashion way back to copy guy finally done. They said they will send the acr card to Dumaguete in 3 weeks. Did it all in one day.PLACE YOUR BETS on the 3 weeks!!! anyway I love it here and the rented pants goes in my next book
