Ho Folks, Time to renew my U.S. of A. passport. Does anyone know of a good, honest, RELIABLE - and I guess "Approved" (??), - travel Agency in Duma that can act as my Representative, submit my application, passport, etc and pay the fees at the Cebu Consulate for me? ( I'm not certain that the agency needs to have been "Approved" by the Embassy or not: seems I read someplace that the Embassy has a list of their so-called "approved' local travel agents....I don't know that for sure.) Name, address and directions,[ and approximate fees the agency charges would be very much appreciated. Or...Larry....do you due this type of work as well? :o Thanks to all of you in advance. Either Forum or direct PM replies are both welcomed! Don Kasten DreAMLANd light_ten_up@yahoo.com
Don, for my passport update, I went to Cebu consulate, filled out the form and gave them the money and old passport and also filled out the home delivery form and fee. Cebu sends the package to Manila and Manila sent me the updated one bout 2 1/2 weeks late. If you cannot go to Cebu, i would use Larry but not give my passport to an agency.
PatO, Yes, Pato, thanks. I just don't feel like traveling to Cebu right now...and seems the asawa doesn't feel like it also. Plus, I think I would actually save about 5 K Php if I use an agency, as I would have stayed at the Waterfront Hotel and hit up the casino for sure! LOL. I was hoping Larry might see my question, and the little blurb I had at the end asking him if he would do it. I know he did / does visas....not sure about this relatively more simple stuff. Thanks for your thought / suggestion. Pat0, in your travels here in Duma, have you heard of any REPUTABLE / RELIABLE agencies? I know there are plenty around....but.....
I hope this info is helpful....you may be able to do it all through mail, and if you can find someone to go make the payment on your behalf: Renew the 10-Year validity Adult Passport | Embassy of the United States Manila, Philippines
don, read this thread; http://www.dumagueteinfo.com/board/general-chat/renewing-us-adult-passport-11758.html. your representative can be anyone and they'll need proper id and a simple letter, signed by you, with their name and id, and a simple statement from you saying you authorized them to make your passport renewal payment. if you have a friend, relative, etc. in Cebu, you could send them your funds. it was an unbelievably easy procedure and it worked for me so it should work for you btw, the foto place at Lee Plaza is no longer there, so afaik, it's either Aldea (across from Veterans Bank, 2 blocks north of LP on the water side of the road) or the foto visa service place up the stairs above immigration (when their camera guy is there : ) norm : ))~
Norm, OK, got it! Thank you. We've decided we will just go ourselves - that way there can't be any slip-ups that I don't create myself! I'll just take pocket change to the casino, and behave....no drinks, etc.....LOL!! I just didn't feel like a long bus ride right now......oh well........."Bahala na". Thanks for your input. How's 'stuff' by you up there? Got everything running like clockwork now? The van running okay? One of these days......months.....years maybe, we will have to get by your place for a visit!! Take care, Don and Lileth
Hey redneck.... Thank you for your suggestion! Yes, that would be the problem with mailing in the renewal...I don't have a contact in Manila! We'll just go ahead and do it myself at Cebu Consulate: I will try to stay OUT of the casino so I don't give them our house and lot! LOL! Don
If Larry does not know or cant help i have a friend in cebu, paul whiteway, he does just about everything, and if he dont he knows who does and how. his business is called cebuexpatservices.com but i also believe i read that you can do it online and through manilla. so its up to you to check out those options, good luck
