I have read now and then about expats and their wives allowed to ship a container valued at a certain dollar amount.

What's the facts on that, and of course are you still open to abuse by customs? My husband is a permanent resident.

We are both here in Dumaguete now, I assume one or both of us would to go back to the US for x amount months?

Can we include a motorcycle, car?

    TIA

    Do they really have this?

I was told by my Balikbayan shipper that US homeland security had given the Philippines a xray machine capable of xraying a container and identifying what was in each individual box inside. I do not know if it was true, but you may not want to try to sneak anything in or out if it true.

What is the Customs duty for having a product shipped to the Philippines from the USA ?

I am considering buying a laptop in the US and having it shipped here, the value, including shipping will be about, US $1,000.00.

What is the Philippines customs duty on that, does anyone know ?

    thanks, Paul.
