Maybe the holdup biz gets too exciting, and their doctor has advised a change of pace, or their tickers won't be able to take it! Or, alternatively, maybe sticking a gun in someone's face and saying the same "money or your life" blah-blah everyday has just become too boring, so they are looking for a change of scenery. So holdups only Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, Chauffeur work - Tuesdays and Thursday, Saturday shopping, and Sunday off for contemplation!

You're right, Newton John--one can't be doing the hold-up everyday and who knows what's in their minds when they want to work for someone? They can always shift from hold-up to robbery.
