Would appreciate if there is anyone that has gone thru the process of applying for Canada pension while living here in the Philippines. Hubby already have the forms but he can use some assistance so he can speed up as he has been sitting on it for over a year. Is there someone is the Embassy that can assist perhaps? Or is that wishful thinking. We are in Bohol.
Google Canadian Embassy Manila. Go to the Home page. On the right hand side of the page......... Click "Registration of Canadians Abroad". Click "Living Abroad". Click "Retiring Abroad". Under "other resources' click "Canada Pension Plan and Old Age Security". This will take you to all the links for Canadian Pensions. Roger.
There is not always a big rush to collect Canada Pension for a couple reasons. The longer you wait to start collecting, the higher the monthly payment will be. And, if you collect while not living in Canada they take 25% expat tax off the top so if your hubby has plans to go back to Canada some time I can definitely see why he may want to wait before starting to collect it.
