Dumaguete is one of the cities of Negros Oriental, Philippines. It has the capability of attracting numerous tourists because of its near proximity to Cebu, because of its dive sites, because of the beach resorts, and because of the great experience of witnessing whales and dolphins.

But these are not the only attractions in Dumaguete. Aside from boasting of its natural beauty, Dumaguete is also proud of the many great restaurants that have been established in the city. Some restaurants offer local dishes and some offer both international and local cuisines. Just like Carmine Ristorante Italiano, a premier dining place owned by an Italian.

Carmine Ristorante Italiano, or simply called the Carmine Restaurant, is a very new Italian restaurant in Dumaguete, having been opened only in 2007. The main concept of the restaurant is to promote Italian food in the Philippines, and at the same time, combine it with Asian dishes.

Among the appetizers, or what is called antipasti in Italian, offered at the Carmine Restaurant are Carmine caesar salad, Insalata di mare, plain bread, garlic bread, and bruschetta.

Soups served at this restaurant include Onion soup, Minestrone soup, and its Soup- for-the-day offering.

A number of pasta dishes, also called Primi Piatti dishes in Italian language, can be prepared at the Carmine Restaurant. Among these are Risotto di mare, Risotto ai funghi porcini, Fettucine alla pana, Fettucine with meat ball, Raviolani dela casa, Gnoochi alla panna, Gnoochi alla varesina, Lasagna Italiana, Spaghetti alla salsiccia, Spaghetti alla amatriciana, Spaghetti alla puttanesca, Spaghetti alla boscaiola, Spaghetti alla carbonara, Spaghetti alla Bolognese, Spaghetti alla vongole, Spaghetti alla pescatora, and Spaghetti Pomodoro E. Basilico.

Of course, if there are Primi Piatti dishes, there are also Secondi Piatti dishes, or the main course. The menu for the main course includes Spezzatino Di Manzo with Polenta, Bacchius alla romana, Agnello, Costa Alla Florentina, Involtini della nonna, Scaloppine Ai Funghi, Filletto di Pollo Gratinato, and Pollo Alla Cacciatora.

There are also, of course, fish dishes, such as Salcicia in Padella and Trancio di Tanigue in Umido.

Carmine Restaurant is also proud of its pizza offerings, which include Pizza Allo scoglio, Pizza capricciosa, Pizza Quattro stagioni, Pizza tris, Pizza vegetariana, and Pizza alla salsiccia.

What further enhances the dining experience at Carmine Restaurant is the presence of wines that can be ordered by the customers. There are a variety of red and white wines served at the restaurant.

This is daphne from bacolod. been to dumaguete thrice now and still cant find your place. Where in the world is your place? Ynna Gaston said you're in the boulevard but been driving up and the down the street and couldnt find you. Tell me where you're located.

Carmine stopped and since yesterday is a new Italian restaurant there with great dishes and for those who are ok with spending a few peso (not RHB of course) US Black Angus named Italia..... klick here ...

 

All sounds very good, and your right, too high priced for my tastes, even though no prices are published.
