On October 15, Ceres Liner will be starting a new route from Dumaguete - Valencia - Bacong.

First trip is 5:45am from Valencia and 6am from Dumaguete.

Last trip is 6:45pm from Valencia and 6:30pm from Dumaguete.[IMG]

The way i have read it i think it is actually 2 routes, rather than a loop route.

    Dumaguete - Valencia via Bagacay.
    Dumaguete - Valencia via Bacong.

This is a special permit covid-19 route so not sure if it will remain a permanent franchise of Ceres Liner.

They will have 4 units of small non airconditioned buses running these routes at a frequency of every 30 mins.[IMG]

I am guessing not too many (already struggling because of max 2 passengers) trike drivers will be happy about this, and buses seem a riskier way to travel in these covid times anyway.

All it amounts to is a very big yellow jeepney, that will stop at every hand wave or passenger requesting to get off. Wonderful for traffic.

Here are the times of operation.

Would have been nice if they used lowentry buses like they do from Bacolod to Victorias.[IMG]

I really hope you are wrong on the bus stopping frequently.
My guess is a trike from Dumagete to Valencia is expensive. The bus should be a lot cheaper. Since there will be scheduled trips from the Ceres terminal my bet is people will flock to the terminal for the cheaper ride. If the buses are full when they go up the hill they will not stop.

Its called progress, it may not be the best timing but Pedi cabs and Jeepneys need to be off the road.. I haven't seen many horse drawn carriages in New York last time i was there.

Perhaps I am wrong, and that would not be bad. But, I based my comment on 16 years of driving here and observing them operate and also on being a passenger on them. They will pass a slower moving vehicle only to pull over in 50 yards to accept or let off a passenger.

That's what buses do here. At least they will be much faster up the hill than a trike when they are on the move. One bus has got to be better than a line of 15 trikes trundling up.

True, but trykes are easier to pass and they will not try to pass you or push you off to the side as they try to get back in since they underestimated the speed of the traffic coming at them.
