My Dell laptop is not charging and is stuck at 10% available, plugged in, not charging. So I am looking for advice if it is a menu thing, or if it needs repair. I also want to know a good repair shop in case it needs repair. Having exhausted all my diagnostic ability, I think it needs repair, so I will pick up an Air2 pad, I think, to tide me over and use later as a kindle +. The charger plug is usually where the problems are, but I don't want to do it.

This sounds like a problem I had not long ago with an HP laptop, following a lightning storm. Algorhithm tested the AC adapter and sold me a new one for P1000. Problem solved. On the north highway at Daro.

If you know anyone that has volt meter I would check your getting voltage from adapter. If there is voltage then I would suspect battery and lastly the jack where you plug adapter into laptop could have broken solder connection inside comp. I have a Dell and have had problem not charging an it was all 3 of the above causes at different times ( it's an old dell laptop that I leave plugged in an power up 24/7. hopefully an expert can often any other solutions

Thanks for advise about Yolly, hern and husband visit here yesterday, really nice couple, both of them help with my problems, they have a big knowledge and are very good to explain what they are doing, so even I understand, lol. Make me feel comfortable in future about computer problems. The charge is very fair/low. Happy for many good advise in this forum

I have to say she is not very responsive. Either on vacation or she does not answer her phone.

Yolly was very responsive to me. came in and looked things over on my laptop, broke out her service disks and went to work. Finished in about an hour repairing my cpu and deleting lots of unused crap. 100% satisfied with her service. reasonably priced also.
