    I'll correct myself here. Papaya leaf juice (extract) may increase platelet counts. A study was done on 36 mice (a very small sample size...and not humans) that showed an increase in the platelet counts of the test group as compared to controls.

    I couldn't find any additional studies on the subject though. Important to note that 95 percent of people recover from Dengue on their own. Only in about five percent of cases do people suffer from hemorrhagic dengue fever or dengue shock syndrome when platelet counts start dipping. Papaya leaf extract won't "cure" Dengue....but it may help out with an uncommon, but serious, symptom of the virus.
