When we there this latest visit we saw an ongoing construction of a building, meant to be a restaurant ,just above the lakes.I wasn't happy with the idea of it as too near the lake ,and worst of it they made a big clearing from rambling wild vegetation and trees to accomodate this building.I also spotted 2 big boats on way to completion ,even bigger than the one that cross Sibulan to lilioan i thought ,they were just parked nr the entrance to the building site.I thought it coudn't be just for outside decor purposes as I spotted bit of plumming inside.I asked one of the constructions workers about it , he said those boats are for the lakes.I can't believed my eyes to see it was huge for use of the lakes.Hope that guy was only kidding.

Here are few pics of the construction site above the main lake and two notice boards with contrasting messages ,one is about conservation of the lake, the other erected nearby is about the destruction of the lake ,take a look,it's blooming obvious .I think it's kinda stupid to have both notice boards up.If i were them I'll take down the DENR one coz sadly it doesn't apply anymore. It's a sign of the lakes doom and looming 'commercial furture.I wonder why the trusted DENR allowed it,it is obviously encroaching an area with natural vegetation that supports the lake .I am not opposed to a restaurant or some commercial ventures happening nearby , only if they had chosen a spot farther away from the vicinity of the lake .We can only wonder how many more like this coming around ,maybe hotels ,sleep over accomodations/cottages over looking the lake, perhaps a pub ,new shops ,before we knew it the lake has lost its natural magic .

Hopefully they will run a clean operation and not add pollutants to the ground and/or water. Nothing can be done about the lost vegetation though.

To bad.....but not a surprise when DENR is obviously allowing it, when big money is involve we dont know what is the agreement of DENR and this businesses there....DENR have a hold on this natural resourses the lake, the land forest there, owned from the government..So obviously (govt) they are starting making a business there....will it's good for the government and maybe for the people, as long as they don't destroy so much the natural beauty there.

Was saddened by looking at it , and what is done is done.Regarding pollution we can take a look at how pollution (sewage ) is dealt with in Dumaguete ,giving example to the sewage treament built in middle of Rizal park , seem leaders are lacking any vision of good.Obviously , money is the beauty of it all.

I don't have faith in those Philippine legislations daffs ,old or new anybody with vested power in them can bend it to their interests ,they just look into loopholes and they get around with it.To mention the Agrarian land reform program started in the 70's ,and now it's a laugh.Anyway, nice to know and thanks for this info daffs.Oh well, now they recognized the Twin lakes ,good news then , but few restobars & hotels coming.

You are right PN, so much corruption in PI. But we will just hope for the best that this govt. there will not ruined the nice place in Balinsasayao.I cannot imagine anymore how doest it look the balinsasayao with bistro and hotels around.Well, that can be happen , money can change everything, all this law will just nothing when the govt. want to benefit this big lands ( they mentioned) there in exchange for money to this investors. So bad:(I will visit dumaguete next year, maybe I have to include that on my plan (places to visit ) before there is no big changes yet.

I hope they go ahead on their plans for a big casino and lodge out there. That would be great!

If this restaurant over the twin lakes will tick ,I have no doubt legislations as backbone for conservation and other policies of DENR will all be forgotten and make way for the greedy.

To mention this off topic issue, of PGMA who gave pardon to depose pres Estrada, what a sheer embarrassment and disgrace ,criminals can get away with justice, millions of pesos spent to get Estrada to the courts and when convicted guilty only to pardon him after 6 weeks ? Criminals should serve his dues regardless a pauper or the wealthy ,whether he is 80 yrs old or a 100 .Justice should best be seen in fair grounds . This country hasn't moved on ,obviously still the a BANANA REPUBLIC as we knew of !
