    In 1811 the Dumaguete bell tower was built and the oldest landmark in Dumaguete. To us is just one of our beautiful tourist spot. But to the the great great ancestor the bell tower serve more. It serve as a belfry and as a watchtower against piratical Moro raids.. And just years more and it will celebrate its 200 years of being one of our oldest landmark!!! :smile:

    The bell tower still stands right next to the Cathedral church but few people ever notice its existence.

    Yeah! most just think of it as an ordinary tower. They forget it witness the untold story of Dumaguete. And how useful it was to the Dumaget before..
