My Wife has been badgering me to invest in a "Power Saving Device" that will lower our Electricity consumption (I explain to her if you drink water from a glass then nothing will replace what you have drunk, unless you yourself pour more water back into the glass, just as electricity you use cannot be given back unless you install Solar Panels that feed back into the grid)

In Australia MANY report after installation of such (Smart Savers) devices, HOUSE FIRES! :o o:

I assume; like much here, what SCAMS operate abroad successfully will find their way here, and I believe Power Saving devices are just that! (Unlike those devices that regulate power at different times of the day. such as Off-Peak power shedding which is done at the Power Station)

I noticed an article this morning which I believe is what my Wife was telling me about, so thought I would share it here before someone else also took the bait... :speechless:

Netizen Discovers Shocking Content in ‘Power Saver’ She Bought for Php6.5k, Warns Others Against Buying the Device

And reports regards the (Govt. forced) fitment of such devices (Smart Meters) in Australia:

These devices have been around for years. They are a scam and should be avoided.

Very informative! I got caught out years ago after watching a guy demonstrated a 'Spark Booster' he placed on the coil of his V8 powered Car, without he pulled off 3 leads and the engine stalled, again tested using a piece of paper between the lead and the chassis of the car, without it scorched the paper, but with the booster it laser cut its way through the paper! He also pulled 6 leads from the motor and it continued to run! Needless to say I and many others were impressed so threw down $40 to buy one of our own, later I had my car tuned and my mechanic saw the 'Booster', he had been long interested to find out if they worked or not, so ran a barrage of tests on his machines, did absolutely NOTHING! My father told me on the old 6 volt systems they would cut the coil lead and make it jump the spark through a bone button, believing it boosted the spark, this was basically the same principal the 'Booster' used, a gap which jumped the spark, which really achieved nothing in the long run, but would still love to know HOW the guy managed to run the V8 only on 2 spark plug leads and cut the paper so cleanly as nothing seemed to be a trick when performing the tests in front of the live audience of SUCKERS... :o o:

My sister in law bought one (buy one take one) she was kind and gave me one.
The flashing lights are really cool. I can make you a good deal on a used one, just kidding.
I knew it was a joke when I read the instructions. "Keep all doors and windows closed for 2 to 3 weeks and the pests will be gone. Keep doors and windows closed to keep out new pests"

My wife thinks I am psychic as I KNEW that the line (BUY ONE GET ONE FREE) was GOING to come up so said it out loud (BUT WAIT! THERE'S MORE! BUY ONE GET ONE FREE) then laughed a belly laugh when I heard it on the Ad! After my ex being addicted to the Shopping Channel back in Oz I KNEW as soon as that Ad came on for the Pest Repellent Gadget was going to be the same! hehe

The infomercials in the PI crack me up. They are just taking all the old US infomercial crap left in inventory that were known scams and selling them in the Philippines. About a year ago in the PI I saw an infomercial for an exercise accessory that I remember my mom getting suckered into buying over 25 years ago. It was the strap that you put on your feet that stretches to your knees. It was supposed to make doing sit-ups easier or some nonsense like that. The guy who sold it end up getting sued for fraud because of that device.

I have been trying to convince the wife that all of these BS Herbal products that do everything from curing cancer to making one young again are a TOTAL SCAM! Everyone is telling her how they became rich selling these products and for a small fee, she can too join them in making MOTTZA PESOS! Pointed out to her that SO MANY products have in small writing "No therapeutic claims made" meaning THEY DO NOT WORK! BUT meaning; IF you are stupid enough to buy our product, then do not come crying to us as the writing is THERE ~> "No therapeutic claims made"
