    Hi guys,
l've been in the area for about a month now. l dont get into dumaguete very often but like to make the most of my shopping trips. l've been to lee plaza and l've recently discovered hyper mart (l think its called) with lots of import foods. My question is this where can l get some really nice cuts of meat and some euro style deli products?

    any help would be appreciated.

    the dude:smile:

Do they have good cuts ???? If you are awake that early, you just go to the market and get it cut of the fresh slaughtered creature...

    cheers

good cuts? or good quality? The native butchers here don't share our western concept of "cuts", merely hacking any animal into small unrecognizable bits of flesh. I exagetrate a bit. But I really feel that colnel Sanders must have visited the Philippines to understand how to cut up a chicken.
Quality can be had in the way of fresh meat at the city market about 6-8 AM or the Saturday morning market at the Valencia farmers market near hypermart. Either place you can tell them how you want it cut. I speak of pork and chicken. Good beef if you like that is scarce.

Cold cuts? only frozen thawed and refrozen varieties for the most part. The deli stuff is OK if you are lucky and get what they have when it is fresh, often these selections are days, weeks old and spoil quickly.
