Field Trip to Commercial Hydroponic Lettuce Farm in Bacong on February 4th. There has been a request to see the Commercial Hydoponic Lettuce growing operation in Bacong. Grahan Reinders, the proprietor, is open to having visitors on Wednesday, February 4. We will meet at La fiesta Restobar at noon for lunch (optional) and leave LaFiesta about 1:15 for Grahan’s place just a short distance away. La Fiesta does not take lunch orders till noon, and is slow on the service so we hope we can leave by 1:15 (just Filipino logic on eating) Grahan grows and sells lettuce to the local markets. He has also experimented with Tomatoes. He has three hot houses operating. He is very open about sharing his operational information. Grahan has written a 107 page book Philippines Farming and Organics, which is available CL Marketing and Lee Plaza. He will have limited copies at his house for sale for a little less than 400 P for those interested. I will have my copy available for review at La Fiesta for anyone wanting a preview. Please confirm by posting on here if you are interested in viewing his operation so we do not leave anyone behind. I probably will not wait past 1:15 PM at La Fiesta Restobar unless the food has not been served. Do not expect to arrive at 12:30 and get a meal by 1:15.
