First week back in the USA after 14 years in the Philippines.....

After living in Negros Oriental since 1999 I made the decision to bring the kids and make a move back to the US of A.

Moved back Saturday, the 15th. After a rough start in LA, finally settled down in an apartment here in sunny San Diego.
Things on the "new and noticed" list.....

Everything is done online. Internet rules the day here, 18Mbps is considered normal.
Auto checkouts at the food stores completely stumped me.
Everyone, absolutely everyone is glued to their cell phones.
Streets are clean
Food is fantastic....

What a time warp, all my friends and acquaintances seem to have aged much more then I.

Reminds me of a video I saw of a guy gettting released from jail after 40 years. The guy got in the car and had no clue how to put on the seat belt.

 

Ahem....No, she's still there.
