Here's another good news for Filipinos:

FREE Universal Healthcare - You don't even need to show your healthcare card.

Report hospitals that won't accept you though the 888 Duterte Hotline.

If it sounds too good to be true. Hmmmmm...........
Nothing about this has been on TV nor the local radio. I would think if it were true it would be all over the TV and radio.
To me the link it takes you to looks suspicious. I am far from an expert, but.
    Assume nothing. Question everything.

Assuming CNN Philippines has accurate information, there is an article there that covers this news.
DOH extends Philhealth coverage for poor Filipinos
However it is not as simple as the OP suggests. In order to qualify for free health insurance coverage, families need to be registered in a government database of the "poorest households".

I have a brother-in-law that went on this program last year, about 8 months ago after his wife passed away. He is indigent and that is how he qualified. He does not have a Phil-health card but he has a "paper" from the government showing he is qualified for care as an indigent that he must show the hospital if he or his kids need care.

If you get PhilHealth your spouse and kids are covered under your account, no extra charge (they are already free).
