I'm going to buy one for my motorbike and wonder which you recommend?

Water and a bright screen i'm guessing is important for a motorbike. Anyone here own one on a motorbike?

Thanks in advance for any/all help.

    Cheers,
    Mark

I would use my old USMC compass and a map if I didn't have a GPS I trusted, but not sure how accurate the maps are. I may be wrong but I thought for most GPS you have to order and download a local map into your system's memory then the satelite will track where you are in reference to that map. As indicated above, I doubt there are accurate maps of NO you can download. I may be wrong...

Did you see what I posted bout Rocky?

You can purchase a Asian down load for a GPS as he did.

    Thanks BR! :-) Got it.

The maps that load into these are knocked off on SD cards I'm told and the cost at a shop is about $5 to get one done. The downside is, they aren't completely accurate as some streets may be impassable due to rock slides, construction or now ONE WAY streets, etc.

Being that i'll use mine on my motorbike I'm more worried about weather effects in rain and finding one bright enough to use out in the sun. So, if anyone has any experience with one on a bike I would love to hear about it...

    Cheers,
    Mark

There are accurate maps available for your GPS, but not commercially. I have a source through the Outsiders club here in Cebu. Michael has the USG maps for the Philippines totally accurate down to the alleys.
but then you have to know someone... otherwise gps is useless here.
