Hello Me and the Wife just bought a lot in the Valencia area and plan to start a simple guest house build this winter when I get back. My question is I would like to import my Harley that I built myself. it is not registered in the states as a Harley but as a special construction in Cali anyone have a idea what they would base the taxes on ? or my other thought was to just tear it apart and ship it than rebuild it there like I read they do with the cars than there is no tax on the parts is this correct? any thoughts would be great. P.S. when I built bike I claimed a build cost of 5-6k would they base the taxes on that?
I am sure you will get some others to comment, but from me first a hearthy welcome and as to your question about your bike, the rules have changed and it is not easy anymore to do the "trick", but I wish you good luck in bringing another one of this useless big bikes into a third world country...
