I noticed for the first time how expensive fish is at Robinson's Market today. 300p per kilo for both Lapu Lapu and Tanigue, and 290 for tuna. Has it gone up the last few months or been this high for a while?

Normally, during Full Moon the local fishing boat "Pamo" don't go for fishing. Perhaps, that could be one of the reasons why during this time, fish price goes up.

check in the local market for the price of fish specially tuna.. you can have a cheaper price for that. just make sure to bring a local with you or let a local do the buying... its cheaper of course.... try also coming in the local market in the early morning so that fresh fish can be bought.

I don't seem to have that problem as my brother in-law is a fish truck driver. :D

Pat, have you checked out the market down the Highway near the airport (all trike drivers will know it by "airport market")? I have been twice now, and the selection of fish (and the prices) seemed quite good to me. There are also a lot of vegetables available. They have some chicken, but mostly (small) whole chickens or just the legs.

This market is open every day but it does not start until 5:00pm, I believe (it might be 4:00; if someone knows otherwise, please correct me!)...

    Hope that helps....
