    So this is it. I am on the eve of starting my life as a resident of Dumaguete. It seems an eternity since my mid-January departure to wind up my affairs in Canada.

    I'm here in Cebu, having arrived from Ottawa on Saturday afternoon. The lovely Annabelle and I repaired to the Canadian Consulate on Monday morning to obtain my "Certificate of Capacity to Marry". That's now done, too.

    Between small bouts of sightseeing, she has attended to other matters of personal (shopping, what else) and professional affairs. Tomorrow, we take the noon Ceres "AIRCON" and by nightfall we will be installed on the Colon Extension - our permanent home together. The wedding's on for 08-08-08. We can scarcely contain ourselves.

    For my part, I'm eagerly anticipating becoming a full time Dumaguetois!

    all the best for you 2. Colon extension is just around the corner of Casablanca, with good food and beer, that would be very dangerous for me... hehe

    I never liked that name... Colon Extension... sounds like a dangerous medical procedure...

    Can you tell ,e what's involved in obtaining the "Certificate of Capacity to Marry" as I am in the same position as you, coming from Canada, hoping to marry and live there. Thanks in advance!

    Happy for U :smile:

    I just checked my finances and found out that I can move down there and retire to a good life at age 45!
    And I can do that with interests and renting out my apt and live on 100 000 peso a month for rest of life..... but staying home it is to little to retire on.

    But I cant leave my old parents before they have left this life.
