My wife and i both had alerts last night on our phones regarding the eruption of the volcano. The news reported the smoke and ash plume was 5000m high so i was half expecting some of the ash to come here but nothing this morning. The wind must be blowing the other way.
My wife's sister and her niece from the Netherlands got stranded in China because of the eruption. They must have been flying to Macton airport. Just been told it was canceled, now flying to Manila.
I flew from Manila to Dumaguete this morning. The flight was a little over an hour late. At the airport someone commented that Cebu Pacific had cancelled their flights. I was on PAL (plane always late).
The volcano has been at it again. The emergency alerts i keep getting on my phone are a joke, the female voice audio is in English but completely unintelligible as she seems to speak too fast.
I've been getting the "Emergency Alert" for 3 days but the situation hasn't changed and PhilVolcs has remained at alert level 2 for Kanlaon - drove past it today and it's just spewing a bit of ash - just NDRMMC justifying their existence I guess
Does anybody understand what the woman is saying apart from the date and time, she needs to slow it down.
