    Hi guys and gals

Long time lurker, first time poster here. =)

Having recently moved to Dumaguete my wife and I are looking for a private tutor, who can teach us visayan/cebuano. We've absolute novices, and have only very little training so far. We'd ideally need someone with teaching experience and who is structured and can supply learning materials.

We thought we should ask the oldtimers if any of you know anyone who might be suited? or better yet, if anyone can recommend someone who taught them? Our previous teacher charged 100 php an hour, but we're quite willing to negotiate the price with the right person, as long as we're not getting charged by the length of our noses. =)

Hope someone can point us in the right direction,
    Cheers

    Hi

I appreciate you taking the time to point us in ...some direction.

We'd still very much like to hear from others who might know someone who'd teach us. A bit of info goes a long way with us - a name would be a great place to start. =)

    Best regards,

    Hi, kumusta.

I am Steve Vincent Larona, I am currently waiting for the results of 2010 bar examinations for lawyers and plan to work at the same time. I read your post and I am interested. Although I am not a professional teacher I can translate, convey, and teach you and your wife the dialect or visayan language. You can reach me by mail at lstevevincent@yahoo.com.ph or see me on facebook.

    Salamat

I took lessons from this lady and can say she is quite good. She has her own teaching materials and also makes the learning experience fun.

    Hi Guys

Thanks for all the help. We've been trying to get in touch with the lady mentioned by Jellyfish. However the number seems to be out of order. Has anyone got her email perhaps, or her name on this board, another phonenumber or any other way for us to get in touch with her? Jellyfish perhaps?

Fingers crossed, and all the best
    Divin'Dane

I checked again my telephone address list in my celphone and see now that I have TWO numbers for her, the teacher.
She is or was on the forum as Rarity.
Her old telephone number was the one I gave earlier.
The NEW (hopefuly still valid) one is 09152886880
Sorry for the inconvenience. I have to delete the old number now.
