Can anyone tell me where to get a real map of Negros. One with real roads, rivers, villages etc. Like a road atlas, maybe. And one of the greater Philippines, too, with named waterways etc...?
Thanks. (Not online, but paper, from a shop...)

Never seen one yet! I even bought a so called mapped micro sd card with pre loaded maps for the garmin GPS and again was no good. There are a bunch of guys slowly mapping the philippines but will take years before they get down this way.

Probably the closest thing is a foreign travel guide to the Philippines travel guide, information in general is badly lacking all over the Philippines.

Google maps worked ok for paved roads when I needed it. Google earth sometimes helped with dirt tracks, lakes and so forth. It can be handy to download maps to one's phone so they are available offline.

National Bookstore in SM Cebu has paper maps. Also bought some at NAIA T3 international departures area bookstore.

I use Maps.me offline which is an android offline app for maps. Your online to download the app and then the map for the regions you want and then its all offline. It doesn't show much in the rural mountain areas where their aren't real roads as far as maps would be concerned. But its an excellent offline map application.

You can buy the EZ maps of the Philippines at National Bookstore in Robinsons. They do a map of the entire country, plus maps of each region. They seem to be reasonably accurate for 2 x 2 driveable roads in Negros.
