CharlyB alluded to this in a different post, but just wanted to make everyone knew that Monday September 12, 2016 is a Filipino national holiday. Closures include consulate offices abroad, at least in the US (which is how we found out, thankfully before a wasted trip to New York). There may have been more than the usual amount of confusion on this one because it's a Muslim religious holiday that's moveable (like Easter), and some calculations had the holiday falling on September 11.
